Go Back
Over the past week the weather has not wanted to be so nice to allow us to get out. But this weekend was good. We had three boats out for overnight trips with myself , Capt. Wes, and Capt. Danny. With the action from the last trip and the numbers of yellow fin being caught I was looking forward to the night as was everyone else. We all were on the way out when I had to return to the dock for some quick repairs and once finished we had some ground to make up. As we entered the gulf I was informed by Capt. Danny that they were boating a yellow fin. I knew I was behind and so I headed straight out to Mars where we did so good
at last trip out. When I got there it was just getting dark and the black fin were waiting. We were catching black fin when on the other side of the rig Capt.Wes was pulling up to start what would turn into nonstop black fin action. I started chunking to see if the yellow fin were hungry but the current would not let the bait get down. I left to try and find greener pastures and less current. Capt. Wes stayed and
later informed me that they were leaving and headed in to fish wahoo at daylight. He said the yellow fin never did bite but he was full of black fin. As I was getting to my next stop of the night Capt.Danny
called and said they were heading in and that they were topped off with black fin and a yellow fin. I fished for a few hours with no success on yellow fins but yet another black fin feast so off to the next stop. We
showed up with black fins jumping in all directions so I just knew we were in the right place but with hours of work and countless numbers of black fin we finally brought a yellow fin on board and then it was followed by another. We finally surrendered a little after daylight and started trolling but no success so we returned to the dock. If you are looking to join us on a overnight trip or a day trip give us a call at 225-279-3800 or 225-610-7603.
