Go Back

Lump? What is that, and that is what was on the minds of the crew and the party on board the Strike Zone Too as we ran down the river and out south pass on the way to Mars and Ursa. With a report of dolphin being out there and in a feeding frenzy we were in hot pursuit. Mr. Ross and his party was just as anxious to see blue water as we were. We enjoyed a nice smooth ride and great food on the way out and it brought back memories of summer and blue marlin. Well once out there we began to troll around the platforms and watch little black fin feed on the surface and chicken dolphin chase our baits around until dark and even thought it was relaxing we still had nothing in the box. We planed on eating fish for dinner on the boat but that didn't happen as we planned. Instead we had brisket and jambalaya. Once we were done eating we began our fishing process to catch yellow fins around the platforms. We caught plenty of Blackfin tuna and it was not until around 1:00 am before we put a yellowfin in the boat. Once we found out the pattern we managed to put five more in the boat for a total of six really nice yellowfin. And I have to say if it was not for my crew J.W and Wes to keep up with the persistence it would not have happened. I became came ill and it was those two guys that made it happen for our party and made it great. Great fishing in Venice, Louisiana.

Thanks guys
Capt. Kevin
