Go Back

The weather breaks and we break out for the lump on board the Ocean Hunter with Mr. Kurt and his party. Only bad thing is that pretty weather on a Friday means a lot of people are going to call in sick and that they are going to work but it will be on the Lump. We arrived on the lump and to my surprise there were not many boats yet. That soon changed, and so did the fishing in Venice. Today was the first time I had Bonita to catch for bait, and this turned into some really fun just catching bait. We filled our garbage can that carries the rope and anchor full of Bonita and began cutting and putting them back into the water to feed some hungry Blackfin Tuna and a very nice Wahoo around seventy pounds. But even with all that bait still no yellow fins. We returned to the dock with some fat black fin tuna a wahoo and some lane snapper. Nice day of fishing in Venice, Louisiana.
