We are excited with the anticipation of the spring fishing season in La Paz about to begin. We are hard at work putting the finishing touches on our boats, gear and tackle awaiting your arrival.

The guests we had in La Paz over the last week did very well with their early jump on the season. George Edwards and his brother Steven from the Chicago area had a great trip. They caught a variety of rocky critters plus, Cabrilla, Triggers, Groupers and Yellowtail. The big prize for them was the large Yellowtail at approximately 60pounds. George said, "We caught so much we had to leave some behind." They fished with Captain Memo seen below displaying some of the nice Yellowtails over their 3 days of fishing. They fished the areas of El Bajo, North end Isla Cerralvo and La Reina fly lining live bait.

We would like to thank all of you that came out to visit with us at the Sports Shows this past week. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meeting new ones. This weekend Leonard and the Commander will be in Salt Lake City, Utah. Come by the ISE Show at the South Town Expo and ask for the COMMANDER SPECIAL you will save some monies on your next vacation to La Paz. This special is not advertised at the show so make sure to ask for it.

The spring fish looks to be working up to a great bite. Juan Carlos, Assistant to Pedro Barroso , is seen above, with one of the Yellowtails caught this past week by the Legler party from Washington. This party also did very well during their 2 days of fishing. This past week a local, Sean, fished with Baja Pirates and Captain Pico. After the days fishing Pico made a comment that surprised all of us. Pico said, This was the best days fishing for Yellowtail that he as ever personally experienced. Pico has been fishing these waters for decades! All four guests caught their limits with 40-60 pound Yellowtail, several big Cabrilla, and even 1 small Dorado surprise.

Baja Pirates looks forward to serving your fishing vacation needs as the season begins on April 1st, 2009. In addition to fishing vacations we are currently designing a new vacation for the non fisherwoman who may wish to join her fishing enthusiast on vacation. This Ladies Get-A-Way, we believe is perfect for couples with two guys that wish to fish and there wifes or significant others who may not. Stay tuned for additional information on this and many other services Baja Pirates will be offering to our guests in the year 2009.

Wishing you tight lines in all your endeavors,
